Before I wrote a line of React, I spent six years teaching secondary school maths — then switched careers through a full-time coding bootcamp in 2022. The classroom gave me communication skills and a deep well of patience for debugging, and on my current team I've become the go-to person for onboarding new hires. I'm after a role where that teaching background counts as an asset rather than a gap in the CV.
